Shyma is a public-transport mobile app for Oran, Algeria — a full catalogue of local bus lines and stops with door-to-door itinerary planning from wherever you are to wherever you're going.

Client Overview

Getting around Oran by bus meant knowing the lines and stops by heart. Shyma set out to fix that: put every local bus line and stop in one app, and let riders find the best route between any two points in the city.

Objectives

• Map the full network of Oran bus lines and stops.
• Let riders search a route from their location to any destination.
• Deliver clear, mobile-first itineraries on Android.

What We Built

We built a cross-platform mobile app that holds the complete Oran transit network and computes multi-stop itineraries on demand — pick a start and destination and get a routed journey across the bus network, published to Google Play.

Technical Implementation

Built with Apache Cordova for cross-platform delivery, a CodeIgniter 3 back end and MongoDB for the transit data, with routing powered by Mapbox and the OpenStreetMap Routing Machine (OSRM) for accurate, real-network itineraries.

Result

Shyma gave Oran riders a single app to understand the bus network and plan trips end to end — a practical, city-scale transit tool for everyday commuters.
