Meural is a digital canvas for displaying art and photography. We developed the Meural companion mobile app — the tool owners use to set up, configure and control their Meural frame.

Client Overview

The Meural Frame brings digital art to the wall, and the experience depends on a smooth companion app to connect the frame to WiFi, configure it, and control what it displays. Meural needed a reliable cross-platform app that talks directly to the hardware.

Objectives

• Guide owners through WiFi setup and frame configuration.

What We Built

We built the Meural companion app as a cross-platform mobile application that pairs with the frame, walks owners through setup, and gives them full control over their display — published on both Google Play and the App Store.

Technical Implementation

Built on the Apache Cordova framework for cross-platform delivery, with a custom native plugin developed to handle direct Bluetooth communication between the app and the Meural frame — the hardware bridge at the heart of the setup experience.

Result

Meural owners got a dependable companion app to set up and control their frame from anywhere on their network — a hardware-connected mobile product delivered end to end.
